South Carolina is a state in the southeastern United States, one of the so-called South Atlantic States.

SC consists of five physiographic provinces, whose boundaries roughly parallel to the Atlantic coastline. The southeastern part of the state is on the Atlantic coastal plain. From the north to the south coast is divided into three distinct areas: the Grand Strand, delta Santi and Sea Islands.

Territory of the state is dominated by a subtropical climate, which signs are most noticeable in immediate proximity to the Atlantic Ocean. In summer the temperature ranges from 19-23 °C in the depths of the State up to 21-23 °C on the coast. In winter the temperature is lowered to -2 °C, while snow is usually not observed; precipitation falls as hail.

In 2015 the population of South Carolina was 4,753,726 people.
