Oklahoma is a state in the south central United States. From the south on the border with Texas, north to Kansas and Colorado, the east with Arkansas and Missouri, on the west to New Mexico. The population of 3,850,568 people (2013; 28th in the US). The capital and largest city is Oklahoma City.

Oklahoma is the 20th-largest US state area of 181,035 square kilometers (69,898 square miles). In the east, the state is bordered by Arkansas and Missouri, on the south - with Texas in the west - with New Mexico, in the north - with Colorado and Kansas.

Natural features, such as sudden changes in temperature during the passage of atmospheric fronts, create favorable conditions for the occurrence of strong winds and storms. Devastating tornados sometimes occure on this territory.

According to the Bureau estimates the US Census population of Oklahoma in 2014 amounted to 3,814,810 persons.
