North Dakota is a state in north central United States, one of so-called 'states of the North-West Center'. The population is 723 367 people (48th place among the states, and the data in 2013, 0.21% of the US population). Of these women - 50.1% male - 49.9%. Ethnic groups: Germans - 43.9%, the Norwegians - 30.1%, the Irish - 7.7%, Indians, Swedes, British and French - by 5%. There are also 25 thousand russians, and in some cities and towns they are 10-30% of citizens.

The state capital is the city of Bismarck. The largest cities in the state - Fargo and other large cities - Grand Forks, Minot.

On the territory of the state are two airbase USAF - United States Air Force Air Base 'Minot', located 21 kilometers north of the city and Minot AFB USAF 'Grand Forks', located 26 km to the west of the city of Grand Forks.

North Dakota has an area of 184,252 square km (19th place among the states), of which 97.6% is land. In eastern North Dakota is bordered by Minnesota (the border runs along the Red River), in the south - South Dakota, on the west by Montana in the north - with the Canadian provinces of Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
